Northwest Missouri State's success throughout the regular season was reflected in the accolades for the team announced by the MIAA Wednesday morning. Four players and head coach Ben McCollum were recognized by the league.

Junior guard Trevor Hudgins was named MIAA Player of the Year for the second straight year, and was joined on the all-conference first team by teammate senior forward Ryan Hawkins.

Hudgins put up 19.2 points and five assists per game, while hitting a league leading 52.8-percent of his three-point attempts. The Manhattan, KS native shot 53.9-percent throughout the regular season and is fourth in the MIAA at 88-percent from the free throw line.

The other starting guard for the Bearcats, junior Diego Bernard, was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Year, an award that had gone to his teammate, Hawkins, each of the last two years. He also landed on the All-MIAA second team. Bernard filled up the stat sheet night in and night out throughout the regular season. He finished league games averaging 12.2 points, six rebounds and four assists per game. He's also tied for 11th in the MIAA at 1.4 steals per game.
